This evening was devoted to filming member Bryon Harvey’s hobby portrait painting. The evening was enjoyed by all the members attending and Bryon produced (almost to order) an excellent portrait  of Charlie Kemsley. The tapes will be edited by the members and the results will be shown later in the year (see programme for details).

We had a delightful evening on the commissioning of HMS Birmingham, a Chatham ship and crew. The film was originally shot on Standard 8 cine and transferred to DVD.  Bob Horn, one of our members created the film, while John Ling a club member was part of the crew. Click here for their stories.

Our latest drama ‘Not Enough Rope’ is now finished and had it’s Premier on 5th November 2009. More than 30 people have been involved with the making of this film. More pictures In the picture gallery.

In May 2010 we were invited to film the Kent East Girl Guide’s Centenary Service in Canterbury Cathedral. This was a fantastic opportunity for our members. More information on our Gallery page. In 2011, this film won the Kent Film Trophy for the best club film.

Our 2012 Programme started with an autocue evening. Everyone had a go. The results were recorded so we can learn how to improve our voices when making a commentary. This year’s club programme is structured so that we can improve our knowledge and expertise in film making.
